Welcome to Politic Stop (Top Politics reversed)
I started this blog as an outlet for the rage that has been bubbling up for months. The political system that once made this country the most free, most cherished and wealthiest in the world, has now begun to crush the citizenry beneath its boots.
I thought you’d appreciate the recipe for the real Satan Sandwich:
Red Devil Food Cookie Crusts
• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 cup 1% buttermilk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• course ground sugar
Marshmallow Creme Filling
• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup marshmallow creme
• 1/2 C cocoa powder
• 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
2. To Make Cookie Crusts: In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1/2 cup butter or margarine and white sugar. Add egg, evaporated milk, and vanilla. Mix well. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, salt, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder. Add flour mixture slowly to sugar mixture while stirring. Mix just until all ingredients are combined.
3. Drop the dough onto greased cookie sheet by rounded tablespoonfuls. Leave at least 3 inches in between each one; dough will spread as it bakes.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 6 to 8 minutes, until firm when pressed with finger. Allow to cool at least one hour before filling.
5. Brush Cookies with butter. Dip cookies into course ground sugar.
6. To Make Marshmallow Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, blend together 1/2 cup butter or margarine, confectioners’ sugar, flavored extract, cocoa powder, cayenne and marshmallow creme. Mix until smooth. Assemble pies by spreading 1 to 2 tablespoonfuls of filling on flat side of a cookie crust, then covering filling with flat side of another cookie crust.
Good article about the “real” Jerry Brown:
Jerry Brown Flashback: “We Need More Welfare and Fewer Jobs”
By Morgen Richmond
For a guy known to hold some pretty strange views, this might be the most bizarre perspective on welfare policy I have ever seen. Here is Jerry Brown from his Pacifica Radio show in 1995 (full transcript at http://web.archive.org/web/19970228194217/www.wtp.org/wreform.html). [Read some of Jerry Brown’s wacky views below.]
The conventional viewpoint says we need a jobs program and we need to cut welfare. Just the opposite! We need more welfare and fewer jobs. Jobs for every American is doomed to failure because of modern automation and production. We ought to recognize it and create an income-maintenance system so every single American has the dignity and the wherewithal for shelter, basic food, and medical care. I’m talking about welfare for all. Without it, you’re going to have warfare for all. Without a universal health care like every other civilized country, without a minimum level of income, this country will explode. You can’t blame the guy at the bottom forever. At some point there’s a reaction and we’ll see that the real criminals are those calling the tune, making the rules, and walking to the bank. We have the money, we have the brain power. The United States now has the highest measured wealth of any nation ever in the history of the world. We could rebuild our cities, we could create the kind of buying power and community well-being that will provide for peace. The guaranteed income is one way. Another way is to have always the availability of work in a nonprofit, in community service. A third is to start giving people training to develop skills where they can be self-supporting. You could come up with a cash supplement. Even conservatives have suggested a negative income tax to cut out the bureaucracy. If we were smart, we’d get rid of welfare and give people a family assistance like they do in Europe…
The problem isn’t even a problem. Automation and technology would be a great boon if it were creative, if there were more leisure, more opportunity to engage in raising a family, providing guidance to the young, all the stuff we say we need. America will work if we’re all in it together. It’ll work when there’s a shared sense of destiny. It can be done! It’s all there! What isn’t there is the leadership to create the kind of social network, the safety net, the distribution that would truly create a just and equal society…
We have to restore power to the family, to the neighborhood, and the community with a non-market principle, a principle of equality, of charity, of let’s-take-care-of-one-another. That’s the creative challenge. First, expose relentlessly the big lie that comes over the tube every night-that if you just go out and find that job, and work harder, it’ll all be fine. It won’t! There’s not enough work to go around and a lot of the pay is not fair. Unless you totally yank up that system and create a better one, unless the spirit changes, unless the heart opens, unless we confront power with the truth of our own unarmed but absolute fearless truth, we’re not going to overcome it. Evil is too embedded to be overcome by anything other than a spiritual challenge.
– So let me see if I can get this straight. Since full employment is a practical impossibility, we should just give up on the idea of job promotion and hand out a minimum income or dole like they do in Europe. This has clearly worked out so well for them.
This way everyone can have more leisure and family time (funemployment!) without any sense of responsibility or guilt over not providing for one’s family. After all, there aren’t enough good-paying jobs to go around anyway.
More welfare and fewer jobs. Let’s call it cuckoo economics.
And this is the guy Democrats have selected to deal with the worst fiscal and economic crisis in the history of California? I mean, seriously??
How’s that “change” working out for you?
This President was ushered in on the promise that there would be no new taxes on anyone earning less than $250k year. That his would be the Presidency of Transparency and usher in a post-racial era. The fact is this President has allowed, and possibly even promoted, more racial tension then we’ve seen in 40 years. We are in danger of losing an entire generation of racial progress. CNN and MSNBC swept the Black Panther and ACORN cases under the rug as non-issues. The fact is, he has broken numerous promises that got him elected including but not limited to: Lowering taxes, allowing C-SPAN to broadcast the healthcare negotiations, getting out of Iraq and fully backing the war in Afghanistan, closing Guantanimo, fully backing Military Tribunals, that he’d “Root out the waste and spending”, and on and on and on and on.
The government spent $84 MILLION on a website that didn’t even have a search feature the first 6 months it was online! (Recovery.gov) $84 MILLION of your money on a website!! Pardon me but Google was started on $2m, Amazon $1, Youtube $300,000, so please explain where the other $80+ MILLION went.
What happened to transparency?
Pelosi stepped up to the mic and without blinking an eye she exclaimed ”There has never been a more open process for any legislation,” at a press conference. She lied directly to the faces of every American watching the news that night. Which meeting was she in because the one we witnessed was behind closed doors. Even the Republican house members weren’t invited. In fact none of us were allowed to see it on C-SPAN. Is this the transparency this President claimed would be the foundation of his administration? Was it transparent simply because we knew she was there? We must be idiots to allow such a condescending, elitist and class biased congress to exist.
Why have politics become so devisive, derisive and careless when it comes to their own constituents? We are being pitted against each other like never before. Our politicians are sparking racial tension purposely to remove attention from what they are doing behind their closed doors. We are being played from both sides, left and right. If you are happy with this administration then you either work for the government, are a union member or are on welfare.
Who am I to judge? Just a citizen of what used to be the greatest country on earth. I do believe we are exceptional people living in what had always been an exceptional country. The United States is quickly becoming everything we fought against just 70 years ago. Tyrants were trying to take control of Europe and Asia and we lost nearly 60,000 men and women fighting them. We have such short memories don’t we? Our children have no clue what the true meaning of Socialism and Marxism is. I fear that we are about to be strangled by our own rope just as a Russian leader once predicted.
God Bless the USA
